Small pieces of Orbicular Rhyolite, a form of porphryy with small quartz phenocrysts - distinct, obvious crystals seperate from the groundmass that primarily makes up the stone.
The orbicular form has round markings caused by manganese or iron staining, which creates an odd 'dotted' or 'spotted' effect.
