Naraoia arthropod fossils
Naraoia was a trilobite-like arthropod which lived from the early Cambrian to the late Silurian.
Naraoia was originally thought to be a crustacean, until scientists found specimens which had fossilised in three dimensions and reclassified it as an arthoropod, likely an early branch of the trilobite lineage.
Naraoia have been found within the Burgess Shale of Canada and several other world famous locales for fossils. Soft tissues do not often preserve often, only other very specific conditions.
There have been discussions as to whether it should be considered a 'soft bodied' trilobite, but should probably be considered 'trilobite-like'.
