Hedenbergite from Coto San Guillermo, Jerez de Caballeros, Badajoz, Extremadura, Spain

Specimens of dark green Hedenbergite from Coto San Guillermo, an old iron ore mine which primarily produced hematite and magnetite.

May occur alongside small crystals of calcite or magnetite. There are four or more mines in the Coto San Guillermo area but these specimens were collected from shared dump sites.
