Hechtsbergite from Hechtsberg quarry, Hausach, Ortenaukreis, Freiburg Region, Baden-Württemberg, Germany
Hechtsbergite specimens from their type locality - Hechtsberg Quarry, near Hausach. Hechtsbergite is an extremely uncommon mineral, a brown native bismuth mineral.
This piece was originally labelled as Eulytine from Hechtsberg but from my examination and research I believe it is more likely to be Hechtsbergite.
We currently have a single piece in stock:
- #1 - 34.2x26.1x23.2MM - from an older german collection, remounted in the old box due to the failure of the putty. It would benefit from a new box and remounting, and ideally micro RAMAN to confirm whether it is Eulytine or Hechtsbergite. It features three small hechtsbergite crystals, one of which is labelled with a white sticky label.
