Coprolite fossils from Peterborough, UK
A nice fossil specimen, not an especially common find in the UK.
This is a Coprolite from an unspecified marine reptile – around 160 million years old, from the middle Jurassic.
It was found in the lower Oxford clay of Hampton Lakes, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire.
This piece has been repaired – you can clearly see the glue along the main crack in the fossil. It measures around 35-45MM long.
