Chalcanthite Specimens
Lovely blue Chalcanthite specimens, measuring around 20-30MM approximately.
These pieces are lab grown. Natural Chalcanthite does occur, but it is quite rare. It is a bright blue - green Copper mineral. Most are grown on a white bed, usually Satin Spar or Gypsum of some kind.
It is also worth noting that these specimens are very fragile. We wrap and pad each very carefully for postage.
These pieces are also water soluble, so please don't let them get wet!
Chalcanthite is a toxic mineral, but relatively safe to handle. It is toxic when dissolved into water, as it contains Copper - harmful to most aquatic life and most mammals too. Don't lick it, and don't dissolve it!
These crystal pieces can actually be made at home, but honestly I think it'd take quite a lot of practice to actually get any this nice.
The pictures you see here are representative of the products and are usually not the exact item you will receive. Where various grades are available we do try to photograph each grade - but some photographs are still on their way!
