Belemnite Phragmocones
Ancient fossilised remains of sea creatures known as Belemnites.
They are common fossils, and as such a few different species are found in and around the UK. If you look carefully enough, you can often find Belemnites in gravel beds; although they may be of different species - and finding an intact Phragmocone would be unlikely.
#1 - 80x66x53MM - an exposed and reasonably well preserved belemnite phragmacone sitting in the worn remnants of the rostrum. Partially fluorescent due to the presence of calcite. Sitting on a fairly large piece of shale which could be removed, but does make a nice base. Whitby, UK.
