Fake ‘watermelon’ Tourmaline slices – these are technically triplets.
Essentially, they’re a printed (yes, printed) piece of paper or plastic with a watermelon tourmaline pattern on, sandwiched between two slices of glass. If you look closely, you can actually see the patterning thats textbook of a type of printing – sort of a ring and dot motif.
Wouldn’t be too bad if these were an actual thin slice of tourmaline, but printed… c’mon.
One of the titles for these was ‘Genuine Watermelon Tourmaline Doublet Glass Slice Loose Gemstone 11 Ct 22X19X3mm’ and it was $24…
I decided not to buy one of these – they’re rather expensive for a fake and not something that’ll be joining my collection until they become cheaper.
