Mile 72

Cape Cross area, Arandis Constituency, Erongo Region, Namibia

A beachside outcropping famous for specimens of jeremejevite.

There are several minerals listed from the site but the most interesting is certainly the jeremejevite.

Jeremejevite is a rare mineral and specimens from this site are nicely crystalline, and often gemmy. They are typically a cornflower to light blue, although sometimes have some iron staining. They can also be a yellow colour.
