The mineral collecting locale is on the south slope of Mont Semiol, in an olivine basalt.
Mindat lists 11 minerals from the site, including two for which it is the type locality – Mazzite-Mg and Offretite.
This site may also be known as Mont Semiouse or Mont Simiouse.
