Viù Valley is one of the three valleys that make up the Lanzo Valleys, or Valli di Lanzo.

Mindat lists a hundred minerals from the locale, including one for which it is the type locality – lavoisierite.
The site produces fine specimens of epidote, often in combination with hessonite grossular garnet, and sometimes colourless to pale green diopside, similar to the specimens found in the Ala Valley.
