Terpetzen
Trixen, Völkermarkt, Völkermarkt District, Carinthia, Austria
Terpetzen is a hamlet and two associated quarries near Gattersdorf, Austria.
The area has three sites of interest, which later became two.
Upper and lower quarry (I’m afraid I’m unaware of the Austrian names for these) became Steinbruch Modre (Modre Quarry). The name Svata Quarry seems to be associated with this one too, so its possible the original names were Svata and Modre.
The other area of interest is a mineral meaning vein near the Kolonistenheim. (Colonists home, or colonial home).
Various minerals are listed from this locale, mindat listing 31 species including a few antimony minerals – stibnite, valentinite, stibiconite, senamontite.
