Serrana Mine

El Molar, Priorat, Tarragona, Catalonia, Spain

Serrana Mine is a shared name for two nearby abandoned mines – Mina la Serrana and Mina de Manganèse – both exploiting manganese ores.

Showing the single result

A pair of mines exploiting Manganese minerals. Mindat lists 40 mineral species from the site. Amongst collectors, the pyroxmangite will probably be most well known as reasonably sizable ‘massive’ pieces can be found online.

Some rarer minerals do occur on the site too, including everyones favourite – cummingtonite.

I was not able to find any information on when the mines were worked but they are listed as abandoned now.
