Showing the single result
There is evidence the Variscite from this locale was exploited in prehistory and during the Roman era, as well as by modern collectors.
There are several mines in the area, including Las Cercas, La Cogolla, and Los Fornicios. It appears Las Cercas has the largest dumps with remains of variscite.
Mindat lists 9 mineral species from the site, including baryte, crandallite, phosphosiderite, quartz, strengite, turquoise, variscite, wardite, and wavellite.
