Opuwo Rural, Kunene Region, Namibia

An open pit copper mine near Otuani that has been worked since 2006.

The site is worked for copper, primarily in the form of bornite and chalcopyrite. There also appears to be a zone with malachite, chrysocolla, and dioptase.

There does appear to be a little confusion about the names used for locales in this area and this could potentially cause confusion.

The problem was exacerbated by early exploration reports which applied some namesto more than one prospect. For example, Onderra, the locality for excellent Wulfenite crystals, is situated approximately 10 km south of the Otuani mine but is also the name for two exploration licenses (Onderra East and West) located further to the south.
