Los Serranos Quarry

Albatera, Alicante, Valencian Community, Spain

Los Serranos is an active aggregate quarry exploiting dolerite, with occasional mineralised areas producing numerous species.

There are a number of minerals found at the site including augite, baryte, byssolite, calcite, chalcopyrite, chrysocolla, datolite, epidote, grossular, gypsum, melanite, prehnite, quartz, scolecite, titanite, and tremolite.

Many specimens from the site were labelled clinozoisite, but this is inaccurate; they are epidote.
