Láz Hill mine

Uzsa, Tapolca District, Veszprém County, Hungary

Láz Hill is a large basalt quarry operating near the town of Uzsa.

The quarry digs through areas of mineralisation which have produced a range of mineral species – mindat lists 30.

Most are zeolites, as we’d expect – apophyllite, natrolite, okenite, phillipsite. The site also produces forsterite, serpentines, etc.
