Inder B deposit and salt dome
Inder District, Atyrau Region, Kazakhstan
A salt lake north of Atyrau, famous for unusual minerals.
Showing the single result
Mindat lists over 50 minerals from the site, as well as 7 for which it is the type locality – hydroboracite, inderborite, inderite, kurgantaite, kurnakovite, preobrazhenskite, and volkovskite.
The site is probably best known by collectors of microminerals – or anyone with a great interest in borate minerals, I guess!
There are numerous sublocalities, most in the form of ‘Deposit no. 33’, and I’ve decided it will be easier to consolidate everything here.
