Graphite specimens
Large rough Graphite specimens - yes, the stuff used in pencils!
A lightweight, metallic looking substance that is a stable form of Carbon - composed of stacked layers of Graphene.
This is a form of amorphous Graphite, and would typically be crushed down for use as either a lubricant, brake linings, or mixed with a synthetic clay to create pencil 'leads'.
It is very fragile, so much that just a light impact or dropping it could break the piece.
These specimens are, of course, Graphite - they will coat you with dust when touched. You will need to wash your hands after handling, as you'll be turned into a human pencil. Not kidding. I guess you could also use these for arts - or make your own shaped pencils.
Our current stock all comes from China, although there are Graphite sources worldwide, including several within the UK.
