Peacock Ore

Peacock ore is a trade name for the mineral 'Bornite'. It is often used as a Copper ore.

Bornite can tarnish, which leaves a stunning iridescent coating including purple, blue, red and other colours.

It is often confused with Chalcopyrite, which is sometimes acid washed to give it an iridescent coating similar to Peacock ore.
