Double Mosasaur Jaw on Matrix
An interesting display piece for any fossil lover, this piece consists of a double Mosasaur jaw on matrix.
It is a composite fossil, which means that only parts are genuine. This means that the teeth are real fossils, but the jawbones and the stone backing matrix may not be.
It is unlikely a perfect specimen would be found like this – and if one was it found be significantly more expensive.
These are extremely popular as display pieces, for obvious reasons. As they are budget items they are popular with children and casual collectors.
The pieces themselves tend to measure around 150 x 200 x 25MM, and the pieces weigh between 1.5 and 2KG typically.
