Break Your Own Geodes - Unopened Quartz Geodes
These amazing Geodes are available in a range of different sizes - we sell them by weight. They are primarily clear Quartz, but there may be some Calcite geodes too. It is almost impossible to tell without cracking them open.
For the larger geodes and the best results I would recommend a lapidary saw or a soil pipe cutter, but a hammer will work too.
Sizes
- 100-250 grams - Small geodes, usually measuring 5-7CM long approximately.
- 250-500 grams - Small geodes, usually measuring 6-9CM long approximately.
- 500-750 grams - Medium sized geodes, usually measuring around 7-10CM long approximately.
- 750-1000 grams - Large geodes - these typically measure 8-15CM long approximately.
- 1000-1500 grams - Extra large geodes - a hot seller when we can get them. They measure 10-20CM usually.
- 1500-2000 grams - Extra extra large geodes - we don't get these often. They measure 10-25CM usually.
- 2000-2500 grams - Huge geodes, measuring between 15 and 30 centimetres long.
- 2500-3500 grams - Absolutely huge geodes, measuring between 15 and 35 centimetres long. We do not get these very often at all!
Due to the nature of our Break your own Geodes - it is simply impossible for us to guarantee satisfaction without opening them. If you receive a Geode that does not contain any crystals (is solid), or your Geode was broken in transit, please contact us for a replacement item.
We cannot be held responsible for any injuries incurred when you break your own geodes - please make sure to wear safety glasses and gloves at minimum, and wash geodes thoroughly after breaking. The internal crystals may be very sharp. Children should be supervised at all times while opening Geodes.
Frequently asked questions and delivery information
How do we grade stones?
There is no overall universal grading system for the majority of our products. As such, the grades we use are internal only. They simply refer to higher and lower qualities, but they may be entirely different grades to other websites. C grade pieces are of lower quality than B grade, which is lower than A grade.
How does our ordering and delivery process work?
You place an order via the website. When it’s been picked and packed, your order will be marked as completed and dropped off at our local post office. We have an account with the post office called a “Drop and Go” account, which allows the post office staff to process our parcels when they have free time, rather than me queuing up and delaying everyone else.
I get tracking information etc online when this has been completed. I typically do not send tracking information to customers unless they request it – but if you’ve requested tracked postage, it has been sent tracked! If you have any worries or concerns about your parcel being delayed please feel free to get in touch and I’ll send the tracking info over! We also get delivery confirmations for parcels over 25MM thick by default.
How do international orders work?
After Brexit, with the UK leaving the European Union, certain things have changed with regards to international orders. European Union customers will now likely be liable to pay the same amount of import VAT as any other international customers. You will be responsible for any customs and import fees.

I can accept Paypal, Stripe, cheque, and direct bank transfers. Paypal and Stripe will both allow you to pay with credit and debit cards.
